Our Family
Jay Mar came to Stuart, FL in 1991 as an Art and Craft store selling a wide range of products that also featured Floral Materials and Party Supplies. The original store featured 15,000 sq. ft. of great product. In 1997 we reduced our space by half and now encompass 7,550 sq. ft. of great merchandise. As the market changed we narrowed our focus into only supplying Art Materials and Party Supplies to the Treasure Coast.
I have a personal interest in art since I've been painting since I was 6 years of age. After a 25 year hiatus I began actively painting and enjoy every minute I can find. I've met some terrific artist friends who have encouraged my efforts.
Our Store Mascot - Maxim von Nauzer - Maxim or Max for short
Maxim joined my family on Thanksgiving, November 25, 2010. Maxim is a pure breed Miniature Schnauzer. He was rescued by the Schnauzer Love Rescue, a schnauzer rescue organization in the Southeast USA. Maxim was found wandering the streets of Milton, FL. The Veterinarian who originally treated Maxim estimated his age to be approximately 2 years old.
